These will include: the child, and the power of innocence; the hero/ine and warrior; the leader or ‘sovereign’, the magician or alchemist, the lover and the true friend.
Siva Nataraja: Learning to Dance with the Forces of Nature; Yoga and the Art of Living and Dying
Thursday, September 18, 7-9pm:(9002 Granada Hills Dr 78737)- $20
Nata means dance or performing arts. Drama rests on the playing out of opposites. Nataraja, the Lord of the Dance, is one of the archetypal representations of Siva, the Lord of Yoga. In this class, we will consider the wonderfully rich symbolism of Siva Nataraja, and use dance metaphor to illustrate key practical teachings and see how they can help us transform some of the drama of life into a dance of reverence and joy.
Jai Jai Hanuman: Leaping over the Ocean of Samsara - Overcoming Resistance, Harnessing our innate animal power and Embodying our True Potential

Here, we will consider the great, practical wisdom encoded in the Indian epic the Ramayana, focusing particularly on heroic Hanuman and his defining exploit of leaping over the ocean, and how it can help us as we walk our own paths today. This class will begin with storytelling and interpretation and then move into a practical asana exploration in the second half.
